Hand-made gifts are always appreciated and, besides, they are fun to make! Participants had the opportunity to make beautiful ornaments out of simple materials to decorate the home and garden or to give as gifts. The Wildling Art Museums Holiday Ornament Workshop was on Saturday, December 22. On that day, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Santa Ynez Valley Grange Hall in Los Olivos (2374 Alamo Pintado Avenue), six craft teachers demonstrated how to make ornaments from various cultures: Gods eyes, origami hearts, corn husk dolls or angels, wreaths, trees and ornaments from liquid amber pods, leaf print ornaments and wrapping paper. Participants made as many of the different ornaments as time permited.
This was a nice activity for the entire family, the workshop was open to everyone (though children under six years old had to be accompanied by an adult).
The cost was $25.00 per person and this includes instruction, all materials, and holiday refreshments.
