Participants
who wanted an excuse to get out into nature with a child or grandchild
and to learn how to record what you see and feel, like the explorers
Lewis and Clark came to this activity. The class met on Saturday
mornings, 10 a.m.-noon, from April 22 through May 20 in different
scenic locations in the Valley, wherethey observed, learned and created
together under the direction of Melinda Weymouth, outreach coordinator
for the Sedgwick Reserve.
The first meeting took place in the Museum gardens, where participants got a list of locations and directions for subsequent meetings. Participants were responsible for their own transportation. The last meeting was at Montana de Oro State Park near Morro Bay.
