Participants in this year's camp joined other fun-loving types ages six through adult to spend time together creating things for or about birds: bird feeders, bird baths, bird houses, and bird silhouettes.

MONDAY, APRIL 2: Backyard Buddies
Make a life-size painted cut-out of yourself that can be placed in your yard holding bird-seed. By the end of the week, you can sit there yourself and the birds will come to you!
TUESDAY, APRIL 3: Papier Maiche Bird Banks
Instead of a piggy-bank, make a birdie-bank out of papier maiche. To attract your favorite birds to your yard, we will also make some bird feeders.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4: Bird Watercolors and Bird Footprint T-shirts
Try doing your own watercolor of a bird, just like John James Audubon. Then proudly wear your own T-shirt custom-decorated with your favorite bird foot-prints.
THURSDAY, APRIL 5: Bird Sculptures
Make a 3-D bird, any size you want from wire, plaster casting tape or found objects.
FRIDAY, APRIL 6: Bird-Print Wrapping Paper, Cards and Placemats
Make something you can present to a loved one as an Easter or Passover gift The team was taught under the direction of Melinda Weymouth, art teacher at Santa Ynez Valley Charter School.
