The Museum organizes four wilderness-themed exhibitions annually, each accompanied by an illustrated brochure or monograph. Featured artists and photographers have included Ansel Adams, John James Audubon, Bob Kuhn, Josef Muench, Diane C. Orr, and Ray Strong.

Group shows have ranged from Women Portray the West and Unbridled Beauty: Images of the Horse in American Art to In Touch with Nature: The Art of Nature Printing in America.
