Woodblock Printing Workshop with Sara Woodburn

The Woodblock Print Workshop will introduce students to the use of Japanese wood blocks, tools, paper, and hand printing. Students will learn about transferring designs to a block, registration, carving, and basic printing techniques. Students will work on a 6” X 8” single color block print. All materials will be provided, but students with some prior experience are welcome to bring their own tools. Bring your design ideas to the class.
Materials: $20 payable to the instructor
Santa Barbara artist, Sara Woodburn, studied textile design at University of California at Davis and in Tokyo, Japan. She has taught workshops to all ages throughout New Mexico and in Santa Barbara. Her woodblock prints have been exhibited at the Wildling Museum, Channing Peake Gallery, and Sullivan Goss- An American Gallery. She is a member of the Santa Barbara Printmakers and the Santa Barbara Mesa Artists.
